ALL ABOUT ME...I have been teaching for 28 years. I graduated from Monroe County Community College with my Associate of Science degree. Then I graduated from Central Michigan University with a Major in Emotional Impairments, a Minor in Language Arts, and my Elementary Education Certification. My Masters Degree was obtained from the University of Toledo in Severe Behavior Disorders. I conducted research on motivation in students for my thesis. I recently went back to Monroe County Community College and took classes in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Access.
I began my teaching career at Milan Middle School. I taught Language Arts in a resource room setting to 5th - 8th graders for four years. Then I moved closer to home and taught at Dundee Middle School and Dundee High School for seven years. While at Dundee, I taught 6th-12th graders Language Arts, Math, Michigan History, Government, Biology and U. S. History in a resource room setting. I also co-taught General Biology, Biology, General Science, Physical Science, Social Studies, World Cultures/World History, and American History. Finally, I came to Bedford Public Schools where I have taught 6th-8th graders Language Arts and Math in a resource room setting and 4th and 6th grade Language Arts and math in a general education setting. I have also co-taught American History, 6th grade Language Arts, 6th grade Math, World Cultures, and PreAlgebra at Bedford Junior High School. I taught 8th grade English for seven years. This is my fifth year teaching 8th grade Computer Science.
In my free time, I LOVE to read. Teen Fiction and Historical Fiction are my favorite genres. My hobbies include walking, scrapbooking, and camping with my family. I am a School Improvement Chairperson.
